On March 23, CEDEC, in collaboration with CAMI and the Municipality of Grosse Ile, held an Event Planning forum as part of the Grosse Ile Tourism Development Initiative. The forum provided tools and information to local organizations, entrepreneurs and citizens to help organize events targeting clientele from outside of the community.
Mr. Robert Boudreau, an Event Planning Consultant and Islander, provided tools to develop event plans, including essential steps, budgets and a risk assessment to address the issues event planners may be faced with.
On March 25, the Entry Island Future Committee, Cultural Festival Steering Committee and the public of Entry Island also benefitted from a similar forum, again facilitated by Robert Boudreau. Throughout the workshop, Mr. Boudreau identified best practices that were collected during the forum in Grosse Ile and explored the potential of regional partnerships.
