High school students in Témiscaming have gained real-life business experience thanks to CEDEC’s involvement with them as part of National Entrepreneurship Day.
Students at G. Théberge School in Témiscaming, using cellphones, worked as a team to develop a video showcasing the beauty of their community. With a quality product in development, they successfully pitched their video to the area’s Chamber of Commerce to use as part of its tourism marketing strategy. With the help of a local photographer who is mentoring the students, they are now finalizing their product, which all started in a business pitch competition as part of their school’s National Entrepreneurship Day event.
Through this project, these students gained valuable hands-on experience in selling an idea, developing their product, and learning how to work with a client; and through it all, they also came to appreciate the beauty and splendour their community offers as well.
