CEDEC’s Small Business Support Network has been active in the Eastern Townships this spring.

April 2011

In Knowlton we worked with Raymond Chabot Grant Thornton to offer a seminor on How to Prepare the Small Business Owner’s Personal Tax Return, which will be offered again next Fall in Lennoxville.

In Sherbrooke, we hosted a Women in Entrepreneurship Panel Discussion, which was well-attended and appreciated. We took the opportunity to document it and the capsules will soon be uploaded.

May 2011

In May we worked in partnership with coop Studio Georgeville which was actively involved in promoting the workshop How to Best Market your Arts Business. Generating a group of 17 eager participants, facilitator Christa Fairchild moved them through the important steps of knowing themselves, knowing their market and subsequently designing a promotion strategy that fits both themselves and their market.

Both Ms. Fairchild and Studio Georgeville are anxious to offer a follow up session this fall that would be offered to their membership network and the larger arts community.

Back by popular demand, Lynda Graham will offer her workshop How to promote your business on the web in June. This workshop, designed for business owners will little web experience and a small budget, will explore practical low cost solutions to web promotion drawing upon specific examples from seminar participants.
