The ArtWork festival attracted over 100 youth for a series of workshops and activities aimed at helping them develop their career in the arts.

The workshops covered  various fields, such as dance, visual arts, music and writing . As well, a lot of informal discussions were happening throughout the day. Participants got a chance to mingle with artists and ask them questions about their lives as artists, the challenges they face and how they’ve become successful.

A dozen organisations and institutions held information kiosks, providing information and insight for those interested in pursuing their training or career.

Deux peintures murales ont été réalisées dans la classe d’arts plastiques. Les jeunes ont collaboré aux deux murales et les résultats finaux sont spectaculaires!

In the Art room, two murals were painted. Both were done in collaboration with the youth, and the final results were spectacular!

The students put on a variety show at the end of the festival, combining music, drama and dance.

ArtWork would like to thank the committee members, the school staff as well as the artists, organisations and institutions who came out to make this day exciting and informative. We received a lot of great feedback from the participants and their parents, especially regarding the quality of the event, since so many youth got a chance to talk one on one with the artists. Based on the success of the event, CEDEC certainly wishes to repeat this event next year!
