Be part of the 20th edition of the Foire de l’emploi Capital-Nationale – Chaudière-Appalaches in April 2018

December 13, 2017 | Workforce Development

Despite record employment levels in the greater Québec City region, the annual Foire de l’emploi remains an important opportunity for employers and organizations in the region and from across the province to meet and interact with thousands of job seekers each year.

On the eve of its 20th edition, the Foire de l’emploi is an example of the power of partnerships. With key organizations such as the Chambre de commerce d’Industrie de Québec and the Chambre de commerce de Lévis leading the way, this 20 year collaboration has played a pivotal role in the increased vitality of Quebec’s Capitale-Nationale and Chaudière-Appalaches regions. The Montérégie and Montreal regionsl also benefit from visibility and exposure to newcomers who are exploring employment opportunities throughout the province.

For individuals seeking to enter the job market or to transition to a new opportunity, the Foire de l’emploi represents a first-time experience in Quebec, with the opportunity for face-to-face encounters with employers, recruiters and employment organizations. There is plenty of support available including sessions on how to approach an employer and expert assistance to develop a resume.

For 11 years, CEDEC has been a proud partner and supporter of the Foire de l’emploi, specifically in the development and evolution of the Zone multilingue.

The Zone’s free second-language evaluation service enables candidates to demonstrate their language skills when they meet employers who are seeking individuals with English and French second-language skills to join their teams.

The Zone multilinque enables exhibitors to meet more candidates who confidently demonstrate their second-language skill level while employers can invite candidates to have their second-language skills evaluated.

Teachers from Eastern Québec Learning Centre welcome job seekers in to have their spoken English or French second-language skills evaluated. Job seekers who have completed the written and oral evaluations at the Zone multilingue leave more confident about their abilities to demonstrate their skills to employers in need of them.
