CEDEC Congratulates New Government

The Community Economic Development and Employability Corporation (CEDEC) congratulates Mark Carney and the Liberal Party of Canada on yesterday’s federal election victory. Our organization also applauds Pierre Poilievre and the Conservative Party of Canada for forming the Official Opposition. Finally, CEDEC sincerely thanks all elected Members of Parliament and candidates for participating in this critically important democratic exercise.

“Yesterday’s electoral results indicate that Canadians desire and expect unprecedented collaboration across political divides and differences to successfully pursue the national interests of Canada and the well-being of Canadians”, stated John Buck, President and CEO of CEDEC. “At the heart of the new Government’s and Parliament’s work will be the development of a future-oriented, adaptable, and sustainable economy capable of providing tangible economic benefits for individuals, their families, and their communities,” emphasized Buck.

“The call for unprecedented collaboration,” stated Buck “is not just a message to politicians, but to all Canadians to work together to build Canada’s future prosperity.”

The President and CEO concluded his remarks by committing to actively support the Government’s economic development efforts, particularly through the organization’s collaborative community efforts to build and strengthen businesses and social enterprises, create jobs and place talent in jobs, attract investment to local communities, and expand trade within communities, across regions, throughout Canada, and around the world.
