Building a Quebec-wide Employment Assistance Services network

September 25, 2026 marks the official launch of the Employment Assistance Services Capacity Development Initiative (EASCDI).

EASCDI is a province-wide initiative designed to strengthen the connections among employers, workforce developers, employment-service organizations, and English-speaking job seekers across Quebec. Its purpose is very practical.

• Help employers connect with the talent they need.
• Help job seekers connect with meaningful employment opportunities.
• Strengthen the pathways that move people from skills development and employment assistance into the labour market.

EASCDI is also one of the first tangible expressions of CEDEC’s work to advance The Road to Prosperity: The 2026-2028 OLMCQ Collaborative Economic Development Roadmap, specifically, the Workforce Development and Labour Market Participation priority. It shows how Public, Private, and Civil Society organizations can combine their strengths around a shared economic opportunity and translate collaboration into practical results. 

The launch program will bring together EASCDI Partners, employers, workforce developers, community and economic-development organizations, government representatives, and other stakeholders. It will provide an opportunity to see the network in action, hear from those involved in its development, review preliminary progress and results, and understand what CEDEC and its Partners intend to accomplish over the next 100 days.
